Before I begin to discuss my involvement in printmaking I would like to note the following. Original prints are not copies of paintings. They are works that stand on their own in their originality.
My introduction to printmaking was through making monotypes, the most painterly of all the printmaking processes. It is the most immediate way to create a print since it does not require the intermediate step of making a plate with a fixed matrix such as a woodcut. It requires only a plate, ink, and means of transferring the image to paper; either a brayer or a press. I have also created woodcuts.
